FAQ

Where are you based?

We are based in Kidderminster, Worcestershire. We offer face-to-face support to people based in the West Midlands within a 25 mile radius of our base. We can offer all clients online around the country and the rest of the world.

How long might I work with a sport psychologist for?

For some athlete’s sport psychology support may only involve 1 session, for others, support might go on for months or years.

We typically work on a six to eight-session basis, to ensure that we are providing the level support needed for moving towards your goals.

Is what I say confidential?

Yes! Confidentiality is a key factor of the relationship between you as a client and the Inside Edge team. It is unethical for us to share informational about what happens in your sessions with anyone else, the only exception would be if you, or someone you know is at harm. It can sometimes be helpful for us to discuss our work with others (e.g., coaches). If this would be helpful, we will agree with the client whether this will be shared and exactly what can be communicated.

Who can benefit from sport psychology?

Anyone who wants to do something better. We perform in all areas of our lives. We perform as athletes, as students, as professionals, as parents and friends, as coaches or leaders or organisations. Sport psychology provides an understanding of who we are, what we think, and what we do when we are at our best, and builds skills that allow us to more consistently bring the best of ourselves to everything we do.

What ages do you work with?

Our sessions are suitable to individuals of all ages. Our current clients range in age from young athletes aged 11 to enthusiasts well into their retirement.

What does work with a Sport Psychologist involve?

Work with a sport psychologist can vary from one to one sessions, group work, workshops, presentations and observations. Depending on what the athlete is seeking support for, different interventions are used to help, this can also involve some homework the athlete or group may have to complete out of sessions.
